JP Lake, Vice President of Sales & Marketing
JP Lake joined Rain for Rent in 2008 after attended the University of Southern California where he received his BS in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance in 2000. After graduation, he worked for Intel, starting out as a Budgets and Planning Financial Analyst. Lake attended the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia and earned his MBA in 2005. Upon graduating from Darden, he returned to California to work for Bolthouse Farms as Brand Manager.
In 2008, JP returned to Rain for Rent with a commitment to help grow the family business and proceeded to work his way through the company starting in sales and moving to Sales Operations Manager. In 2010, he was promoted to Director of Marketing, where he updated the brand positioning, image and strategy. In 2011 he assumed the responsibility for improving the PowerPrime Pumps division of the business and developing it into its own distinct brand. Today, he’s the President of PowerPrime™ Pumps and the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Rain for Rent.
JP and his wife have three children. In his time outside of work, he is the co founder of Kern Citizens for Sustainable Government and Board Member for Heritage Oak School.
Bruce Wyant, Specialty Products Manager
Bruce Wyant, Rain for Rent’s Specialty Products Manager, is responsible for sourcing a steady stream of new products and product enhancements that add value and help differentiate the company. Mr. Wyant was instrumental in securing the company’s entry into the submersible pump and large diameter HDPE pipe rental business, as well as the 40,000 BBL LakeTank™.
During his 30-year career at Rain for Rent, Mr. Wyant held positions in sales and branch management before joining the specialty products division three years ago. His unique creativity in adapting existing and developing new products has helped him secure manyspecial effects projects in the movie industry.
Mr. Wyant holds a bachelor’s degree in Plant Science from Fresno State University.
Mike Grundvig, Senior Engineer
Mike Grundvig, Vice President, Project Management, has offered engineering expertise and executive management to Rain for Rent for over 30 years. Mr. Grundvig provides engineering support for company manufacturing processes and tooling design, irrigation systems, and thedesign and installation of special projects.
Mr. Grundvig is certified as an Irrigation Designer as well as a Licensed Engineer, and is an active member of the Irrigation Association, California Agricultural Irrigation Association, andCalifornia Legislative Council of Professional Engineers.
Mr. Grundvig has a B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from California Polytechnic State University.
Darren Medlock, Business Development Manager
Darren Medlock, Business Development Manager, is focused on building Rain for Rent’s roleand position in the upstream oil and gas industry. In this function, Mr. Medlock gathers andanalyzes market data and provides key insights to align Rain for Rent’s expertise andcapabilities with the unique needs of the petrochemical industry.
Mr. Medlock spent six years in the micro filtration industry before joining Rain for Rent in 2006. He held positions in industrial sales and branch management before assuming his current rolein 2012.
Mr. Medlock received a B.S. in Mining Engineering from the University of Nevada. He is a member of the Nevada Mining Association, Geothermal Energy Association, API and Society of Mining Engineers.
