A 200,000+ bpd refinery underwent maintenance including turnaround of the permanent cooling tower and relining the cooling tower basin. In order to provide water to heat exchangers in other cooling towers, their system needed to be bypassed.
Rain for Rent provided a cost saving solution that included eight DV200 12-inch pumps were manifolded into a common 24-inch pipeline that fed the refinery's force main and allowed for cooling tower refurbishment all while keeping the refinery operating.
The refinery's parent company had previously worked with Rain for Rent for essential pipeline projects. Because of the success on this project and others, the company continues to choose Rain for Rent for vital projects that require experience, technical expertise and reliable pumps.
